Sachs is a German manufacturer of car parts intended for the spare parts market and used in serial production of cars. With such renowned brands as Lemforder and Boge, Sachs is part of the ZF Group – one of the leaders in car parts production in the world. Among the regular suppliers of Sachs products, it is worth mentioning manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen. Sachs car parts with which this brand is primarily associated are, among others, shock absorbers and clutches.
The first steps of the Sachs company date back to 1895. The company's name comes from the surname of one of the founders, Ernst Sachs, who is mainly known for inventing the bicycle torpedo. From the very beginning, the company specialized in the production of the highest quality car parts. In 1929, it was decided to expand the offer in the field of drive units, clutches and shock absorbers. These activities made Sachs one of the most renowned manufacturers of car clutches and shock absorbers in the world. In 1959, it was decided to open the first factory in South America (Brazil). In later years, representative offices and factories were opened mainly in the territory of the United States and South America. In 2001, the Sachs brand was taken over by ZF Friedrichshafen AG, which bought the majority stake in Sachs.
Sachs is part of the ZF Group, which produces and supplies components mainly for passenger cars, but also for other machines such as commercial vehicles, trucks and helicopters. Despite the wide range of Sachs parts, the brand is mainly associated with the production of excellent suspension and transmission components.
